A HERO Castlepark dad delivered his own newborn daughter at household in the shower while awaiting an ambulance soon after his partner suddenly went into labour.

Eve Elizabeth Tyrie was born Tuesday, July 6 weighing 7lb10oz to happy dad and mom Stuart, 36, and Taylor Penman after the mum’s waters broke at their household in Cannon Place.

Dad Stuart Tyrie thanked the NHS and ambulance crew following the terrifying encounter – introducing that it was good to have saved them a job.

He stated: “I’m alright now, but it was terrifying. It was outrageous and it was all a blur – but I’m sort of glad to have long gone by it.

“Taylor’s h2o broke about 4am in the early morning then she was as a result of in the lavatory making an attempt to neat down and showering off. Her contractions have been rather significantly aside so we were on the cellular phone to the midwife.

“All of a sudden the contractions have been a moment aside and the midwife mentioned mobile phone 999. I was on the cell phone to them and Taylor could sense a large amount of strain and thought she experienced to go to the bathroom but then all of a unexpected her foot arrived out and was like oh my god.

“I’m on the phone to 999 but then when the foot came out I’m like ‘sorry’ then set the telephone down and experienced to produce the toddler there and then.

“Her other foot then occur out and she was dangling there – she appeared lifeless at first, it was scary. Then when she was on her way out her chord was spherical her neck so I had to get it absent and then her head arrived out. It appeared like a life time of her laying there not moving, but was only a issue of seconds.

“I gave her a wee rub and then she started crying. I was ready to talk to 999 again and the paramedics were being just about at the door. They had been telling me how to untie the umbilical chord.

“They arrived in then I bought to cut the umbilical chord and held Eve even though Taylor was getting attended to by the paramedics. Taylor was a hero as she was in a position to walk out the door to the ambulance then we were being absent. We bought to the healthcare facility and they were being able to explain to us all the things was ok – but it was a terrifying way for it to happen.

“We would like to give a major thank you to the ambulance staff, we have been very pleased with the aftercare we bought – continue to we saved them a position in any case.

“Eve’s performing great, she’s completely great. I’m so glad, she’s joyful, healthful and lovely so she is. Taylors doing nicely much too, she’s coming on leaps and bounds the earlier pair of times. She’s got a wee spring in her phase.

Taylor included:”It still doesn’t seriously truly feel serious, I was just in these kinds of shock when I felt that foot. I was like oh my god, this isn’t taking place. Then it just transpired so speedy but it was the longest two minutes of my daily life. We’re quite blessed.”
